Notice of Legionnaires Testing

This notice is being provided as a precaution due to the identification of one case of Legionnaires at the facility. Orlando Health and Rehabilitation Center is working with the Department of Health to ensure all precautions are in place. While it has not been determined if the active case of Legionnaires’ illness was acquired at the facility, we are notifying all Admissions, Re-Admissions and all current Residents and Visitors to the facility.
Legionnaires’ can cause pneumonia symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, muscle aches, headache, and fever. For Visitors, if you are experiencing any of these symptoms please postpone visiting. For Residents, if you are experiencing any of these symptoms please report them to your care giver.
Legionnaires’ is usually spread through water droplets when small droplets of water get into the air and people breathe them in and in rare cases, when someone is drinking water and it “goes down the wrong pipe”. Legionnaires’ is not spread from person to person.
